Great story, wonderful characters - completely believable despite the mechanical approach. Tight story and really nice art direction and detail. Bonus marks for animation - a lot mechanical detail and moving parts to manipulate.
I picked Junk because of it’s juxtaposition of the playful and somber. A creator brings a sportive dog into the world, which is revealed to be a wasteland void of diversity and thriving life. All that is left are creatures he has built from the scraps surrounding him. While his creations vary in species, their plight is the same. The unique use of materials used to enhance the story stands out as a strength. Every character and prop is physically connected in the sense that they are all made out of the same material, while this subconsciously strengthens their connection in an isolated, barren, and uniform world.
Loved the bespoke armature building. A stroke of ginus to make the story about the building of armatures to tell the story about armatures building armatures.
